Screw History

As early as the First century BC, screw shape tools were seen in Europe . They were used mostly as plugs for wine or palm oil containers. Screw, which was used for fastening, was first recorded in 1513 BC and was made by a Germany watch craftsman. The structure of the screw then was very simple. Craftsman grinded the thread on the screws by using files. The production was handful. Until late 18th century, English engineer invented specialised lathes, since then screws became popular and were widely used.

In the 20th century, modern thread-rolling method was first utilised. The method produces screws with high accuracy and exceptional quality, more importantly; the cost of production could be substantially reduced. After ages of refinement and development, screws are now truly a symbol of fastener, and was scattered in almost all industrial product.
